Jazzy Bossas, sambas, choros and a little African Highlife!

As a jazz pianist, Jeff has worked with many American jazz legends including: Freddie Hubbard, David Fathead Newman, Marlena Shaw, Eddie Harris, Richie Cole, Dakota Staton, and Clark Terry. He is heard regularly with many groups, including the Ken Walker Sextet.As a recording artist Jeff’s ‘07 release “Cique” received high acclaim, including being selected as one of the ten top jazz CD’s in the Boston Globe. He has three solo releases on American Gramaphone Records, and has appeared on dozens of CD’s as a sideman.

He currently teaches at the University of Colorado at Boulder and for the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts. He is co-owner of successful Denver based recording studio - Mile High Music.

Challenge Aspen welcomes the U.S. Adaptive Ski Team and national adaptive ski teams from 13 countries to Buttermilk Mountain this March for the prestigious International Paralympic Committee 2010 Alpine World Cup finals, presented by U.S. Paralympics. Radney Foster will be stopping by the Two Old Hippies store on Friday, February 19th at 5:30PM to meet with his fans before his show at the Wheeler Opera House. The show with Guy Clark begins at 7:30PM.

One of Texas’s newest favorite sons, Radney Foster, whose songwriting talents while half of Foster & Lloyd made for nine singles on the country charts. Overall, Foster has charted thirteen singles on the Billboard Hot Country chart, including the Top Ten hits “Just Call Me Lonesome” and “Nobody Wins.” Plus he keeps making hits for other country artists, including Sara Evans, Keith Urban and Jack Ingram.

Presented by Brazilian Nites: Carnaval of Bahia! The largest Carnaval on the West Coast, Brazilian Nites Carnaval has consistently sold out, drawing a crowd of 3000+ for the past 9 years. This music and dance spectacle offers club goers an authentic demonstration of Carnaval dance, costuming, parading, live music and drink. At the heart of the 2010 celebration is the legendary Carnaval band direct from Bahia, TRIO ELETRICO Armandinho, Dodo & Osmar (led by descendants of the originators of the Brazilian band on wheels from 1950) with top-notch musicians performing irresistible Carnaval beats.

Frankenreiter is known for his soulful surfer rock sounds, including his first hit “Free,” in collaboration with long-time surfing buddy and friend Jack Johnson as well as more recent hits such as “Move By Yourself” and “Life, Love and Laughter.”

The Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series hosted by Aspen/Snowmass debuts in November and continues through March with a series of free outdoor concerts held during key events and peak weekends throughout the season.

Aspen was proud to host the 2010 Winter X Games. Events were held Thursday, January 28th through Sunday, January 31st. The games had many highlights.
