Two Old Hippies is proud to announce our title sponsorship of the Aspen Rotary Club’s 2009 Annual Ducky Derby. The Aspen Rotary Club is part of Rotary International, a humanitarian organization which embodies the spirit of “Service Above Self.”

Funds raised by the Ducky Derby help to promote education, health and human services, community building, and recreational/sports activities in the Roaring Fork Valley. Internationally, money is leveraged through matching grants to fund education, clean water projects, critical medical aid such as surgeries, equipment, wheelchairs and prostheses for the disabled, and the empowerment of people through small business development.

Rotary clubs throughout the world have dedicated resources toward making the planet polio-free through Rotary International’s signature cause, Polio Plus.

The Ducky Derby is held on Saturday, August 8th, 2009 at the Rio Grande Park in Aspen, CO.

Two Old Hippies is proud to be a contributing sponsor for the Aspen/Snowmass Ride for the Cure®, a fundraising event first, and a bike ride second. We are honored to donate a $745 travel package to Ride for the Cure’s online auction to help raise funding for such a great cause.

Registration for the Ride for the Cure includes a commitment by each Rider to raise at least $500. Komen Aspen provides easy online fundraising tools, including your own personal donation page. Check our Fund-raising Tips for some handy tips. The earlier you start fund-raising the easier it is.

Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in the United States. Every day, nearly 600 women are diagnosed with breast cancer and over 100 women die from the disease. The money raised supports the Aspen Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and its promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality health care for all and energizing science to find the cures. Join the Ride and help provide hundreds of women, who might not otherwise be able to afford it, the opportunity for annual breast exams, low-cost or no-cost mammograms and diagnostic ultrasound screenings, as well as educational materials on the benefits of early detection.
