Funds raised by the Ducky Derby help to promote education, health and human services, community building, and recreational/sports activities in the Roaring Fork Valley. Internationally, money is leveraged through matching grants to fund education, clean water projects, critical medical aid such as surgeries, equipment, wheelchairs and prostheses for the disabled, and the empowerment of people through small business development.

Rotary clubs throughout the world have dedicated resources toward making the planet polio-free through Rotary International’s signature cause, Polio Plus.

Two Old Hippies will be giving away a First Generation Bedell Guitar at the Ducky Derby. Please stop by the Two Old Hippies store located at 111 S. On Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 9:00 pm, Blondie takes the stage at the Belly Up. Debbie Harry, the pop icon who defined a generation, is back with Blondie to perform the hits you know them by: Rapture, One Way Or Another and Heart Of Glass. Blondie first gained fame during the ’70s new wave and punk rock scenes. They have crossed boundaries with their unique style and sound and have sold over 30 million albums.

gentlemen_prefer_blondesTo help you celebrate this unique performance, stop by Two Old Hippies, 111 S. Monarch Street, and check out another blond pop icon who defined her own generation. “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” is a limited edition fine art Giclee print of Marilyn Monroe at a press party given at her house on March 3, 1956. Hand-numbered and titled, this beautiful framed iconic image is an impressive 22″ X 17″ and embossed with the Hulton Archive Collection’s seal of authenticity.

Experience the best of two generations. Stop by Two Old Hippies and take a trip down memory lane with Marilyn Monroe and our entire collection of limited edition, historic Rock N’ Roll Fine Art and one-of-a-kind Rock N’ Roll Memorabilia. Then go witness a truly unique performance by Blondie at the Belly Up.

Today Aspen's Wheeler Opera House is home to a variety of movies, lectures, concerts, and festivals-including the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival each June. Recently, big names such as The Eagles, Sheryl Crow, Jerry Seinfeld, and Oprah have entertained on the historic stage. The theater was the talk of the mining town when it opened in 1889, complete with rich Moroccan leather seats, a deep blue ceiling studded with silver stars, and a breathtaking chandelier. But then it endured tough times, including a shutdown after the 1893 silver market crash and a string of 1912 fires that left it abandoned and near ruins. After Aspen's revival, the renovated opera house opened again in 1984-and has been a premier entertainment venue ever since.
